Cultivating Success: The Power of "Be-Do-Have" vs. "Do-Have-Be"

Ever feel like success is an endless chase? You might be planting the wrong seeds in your garden of success. As a Next-Gen Coach, I’ve observed two key approaches: "Be-Do-Have" and "Do-Have-Be." Let’s explore these through a simple metaphor.

🌿 The "Do-Have-Be" Approach: The Hungry Farmer

The "Do-Have-Be" approach is like being a hungry farmer who believes, “If I just plant the seeds (Do), I’ll eventually get the fruits (Have), and then I’ll finally be happy (Be).” Picture this farmer, working tirelessly, planting seeds with hopes of a bountiful harvest. But when the tree doesn’t bear fruit immediately, frustration sets in. The focus remains on doing and having, while the farmer overlooks the crucial element of being—who they are while nurturing the garden.

🌼 The "Be-Do-Have" Approach: The Mindful Gardener

Now, let’s explore the "Be-Do-Have" approach, where you become a mindful gardener. Imagine yourself as someone who already embodies a thriving gardener’s mindset. Before planting the seeds, you immerse yourself in the sensory experience of a flourishing garden—the scent of fresh earth, the vibrant colors of blooming flowers, and the gentle rustle of leaves in the breeze. You feel confident and deserving of the beautiful tree you wish to grow (Be).

With this mindset, you naturally take the right actions (Do)—watering the garden with patience, tending to it with care, and nurturing it with purpose. Because you are confident in who you are, the actions you take align perfectly with your goals. As a result, your garden blossoms, and you enjoy the fruits (Have). But here’s the magic—the happiness and fulfillment were already there from the beginning. You didn’t wait for the fruits to grow to feel satisfied; instead, you nurtured them with a sense of purpose and joy.

🌟 Which Gardener Will You Be?

Both the hungry farmer and the mindful gardener work hard, but their experiences are vastly different. The "Do-Have-Be" approach can lead to a cycle of endless striving, where happiness is always just out of reach. On the other hand, the "Be-Do-Have" approach brings joy and fulfillment, not just at the destination, but throughout every step of the journey.

If you find yourself stuck in the "Do-Have-Be" cycle and are ready to embrace the more fulfilling "Be-Do-Have" approach, I can help guide you through this transformation. Let’s work together to change your model so you can start experiencing the success and happiness you deserve.
